Dear Christ Presbyterian family,

I'm excited today to announce two significant staff promotions. The strength of our church staff has never been this strong and we are so grateful for these two members who are so gifted in their respective areas of ministry.

Mallory Hammond is being promoted to director of children and families, and Kyle Banks is being promoted to director of students and families. Both are senior staff roles, and will report to executive director, Bob Bradshaw.

Mallory has been part of our Kids Ministry for the past four years and has held several positions of responsibility, most recently as Kids Ministry director. Prior to coming on with us at Christ Presbyterian, Mallory served on the children's ministry staff at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NYC. Mallory's significant experience and passion for children's ministry has served Kids Ministry well and greatly enhances our staff depth and leadership as she assumes this new role.

For the past year, Kyle Banks has been our director of senior high boys. His previous experience prior to joining Christ Presbyterian includes serving as youth pastor and student director for five years at a multi-site church here in Nashville. For the past several years, he has also been coaching a group of area youth pastors, and has worked closely with teenagers and their families for the last decade. Kyle has a great passion for student ministry.

In a related announcement, after two months of requested sabbatical, Babs Murray, director of senior high girls, will be moving on from Christ Presbyterian to pursue other opportunities. Babs has been a faithful encourager and discipler of our female students, and will be missed by us all.

Babs writes:

I write this email with a mixture of sadness and gratitude. When the church so graciously allowed me to take some time off this summer, I had every intention to return full—with even more love and energy for the Student Ministry. These past two months have been restorative, but after I met with the leadership it became clear that God was leading me in a new direction. I'm content with where God holds me today and joyfully anticipating where he may call me in this next season of my life. But I will miss getting to see you regularly. I am so grateful for all the time we spent together; those memories will always be special to me.

Please join us in congratulating Mallory Hammond and Kyle Banks, and in thanking Babs Murray for her years of faithful service and friendship to our church.

Yours in Christ,

Scott Sauls, Senior Pastor
