Year-End Giving: A Message from Scott Sauls

Dear Family and Friends of Christ Presbyterian Church,

This Thanksgiving week, as your pastor I want to say “thank you.” Thank you for your participation, generosity, and support for the Lord’s work in and through CPC. Your financial support in 2017 has enabled so much fruitful ministry, including:

  • Thousands growing in Christ through hospitable worship, CORE communities, and CPC’s many specialized ministries.

  • Generously backing three new church plants, two in Nashville and one in Charlotte, NC.

  • Providing sorely needed disaster relief in the continental U.S. and Puerto Rico.

  • Curating public forums on important subjects such as internet health, foster parenting, and race relations.

  • Expanding our special needs focus with additional CPC staffing and new partnerships with organizations that serve the special needs community.

  • Creating new staff roles in Children, Students, NIFW, and Communications.

  • Deepened life together through connect groups, prayer gatherings, and the strongest care team CPC has ever had.

  • Investing nearly 40% of our weekly offerings toward missional communities, partnerships, and grants to advance God’s kingdom into Nashville and beyond.

2017 has also been a hard year for many in our church family, with many struggling spiritually, emotionally, relationally, physically, and financially. Thanks to your generosity, CPC’s exemplary care team made up of lay leaders, Stephen ministers, licensed counselors, biblical disciplers, deacons, pastors, and an on-call chaplain have brought healing and hope into the lives of our members and neighbors who suffer.

These are just a few of the ways we have been able to continue pursuing our mission, which remains the same year after year: To follow Christ in his mission of loving people, places and things to life.

Did you know that over 20% of CPC’s fiscal year giving is realized in December? We are again depending on a similar level of generosity as we prepare for 2018.

Please consider the ways God has blessed you this past year. Also, consider how he is leading you to be a blessing: to pray for those in need, to encourage others in the CPC family, to love your neighbors, and to serve alongside others in mission.
