UpRise Nashville, one of our Missional Partnerships, is a career development program for Nashville adults who are ready to start a new educational path and improve their financial condition.
Women are disproportionately impacted by poverty in Middle Tennessee. In fact, one out of every two single mothers in Davidson County with a child under age 5 lives below the poverty line. We see this statistic come to life at UpRise, as we welcome our fifth class which is largely composed of single mothers. This is why we are specifically looking for females and couples for volunteers!
How can YOU help? Volunteer with UpRiseNashville as an Ally, to empower and encourage our unemployed and underemployed neighbors to reach their God-given potential. Allies will walk alongside our student Leaders as they pursue a new career path. We will meet two times per month from January through April.
We will have a training dinner on Oct. 24 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Green Hills to equip and energize each Ally!
Volunteers will need to be available the following Thursdays from 6-7:45 p.m.: Jan. 23, Feb. 6 and 20, March 5 and 19, April 2, 16 and 30.
