In July 2018, our Mission Advisory Team budget strategically added two local Missional Partnerships dedicated to improving the lives of our friends with special needs because we believe every person, whether an expert or a person with special needs, is a carrier of an everlasting soul, so we are committed to caring for individuals with special needs and their families.
BrightStone identifies and encourages the strengths and abilities of adults living with developmental disAbilities by expanding their potential through Music and the Arts, Health and Wellness, Social Awareness and Recreation, Lifelong Learning and Vocational Training—giving each adult a daily reason to get up in the morning and something of value to do. To learn more about the 138-acre Land of Dreams, their future site, which will include residential facilities, contact Randy Elliott to take a special tour (lunch included) of this life-empowering, life-changing and life-saving ministry committed to serving families in Middle Tennessee.
Tucker’s House partners with families of children with disAbilities (up to age 22) and their healthcare providers by retrofitting their homes to meet their specific immediate, intermediate, and long-term needs—ensuring their home is not only accessible and safe, but also allows each child to achieve his/her potential. They provide construction management of home improvements such as installing ramps, widening doorways, modifying bathrooms to be wheelchair-accessible, and/or replacing carpet with flooring that enables wheelchair accessibility. And for those who qualify for financial assistance, Tucker’s House provides the funds for the project, then procures donations of materials and coordinates with suppliers, qualified subcontractors and volunteers.
