Kids with Special Needs
Children with special needs are provided assistance, buddy helpers, and specialized care during Sunday worship, Sunday School classes, and other times during the year. To get more information or to learn about missional opportunities to serve in this ministry, email Gigi Sanders.
Below are the various ways CPC seeks to serve children with special needs and their families.
Usually 2nd Saturday of the month, August-April, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Special Saturdays is an uplifting time of Bible stories, music, crafts and more for children with special needs and their siblings, to give parents a morning respite once a month, August-April.
For families and their children with special needs, CPC may assign a Buddy Helper on Sunday mornings if a buddy would be helpful for the child and family.
A Buddy Helper provides assistance, support and friendship to children with special needs, so the whole family can participate as valuable members of their church congregation. The Buddy Helper will spend the morning with the child, attending classes or worship together.
Become a Buddy Helper
Because of the way you all have loved our city so well, new families with special needs are now visiting our church! We have amazing opportunities to love these families by serving as a Buddy Helper once a month on Sunday mornings either during the first service or during the CORE hour.
VsBS (Very Special Bible School for kids with special needs)
VsBS is a Vacation Bible School for children with special needs and their siblings held every summer! The children are individually paired with trained volunteers. CPC and friends serve in a variety roles, including buddies, coordinators of crafts, games, snack, Bible and music team, greeters and decorating.
