Adult CORE Classes

WINTER/SPRING 2019 CORE CLASSES

At the Old Hickory Blvd location, we offer classes in the template of Christian Living, Orthodoxy, Reach and Exposition (CORE). We do this through a rotating scope and sequence of standard semester-long modules of teaching on Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings. Registration is not required unless noted.

C – CHRISTIAN LIVING

Two Becoming One
We will continue our study of the book, “Two Becoming One,” which encourages couples toward deeper dependence upon God and his promises and assurance, and away from performance-based relating.

Lessons in Faith and the Person of Jesus
The Inspirations class is for adults with special needs and seeks to develop community through fellowship, learning and parties. We invite anyone interested in befriending our adults with special needs to come and join us: you will be blessed!

Christian, What Do You Believe?
We will explore the foundations of the faith, what makes us historically and uniquely Christian and how this intersects with our modern culture.

Christ, Race and Culture
We’ll examine the church’s role—good and bad—in American History, and learn what our church legacy has to teach us.

E – EXPOSITION

A Study of Paul’s Letters to the Romans
A careful study of Paul’s great letter to the Roman church.

Beyond the Veil: A Study of Hebrews
A study of Hebrews. No other New Testament book connects the finished work of Christ to its Old Testament foundation like the Epistle to the Hebrews.

Romans

We ’ll begin an in-depth study of Paul’s letter to the Romans.

HOPE MINISTRIES COURSES

Parenting Mini Courses
How can I nurture, love and encourage my child who is being enticed away from God’s light? How can I discipline without being harsh? How should I lead them? This 2-week mini-course is for anyone who could use encouragement for ministering biblically to children and youth. Registration is required; register at christpres.org. Donations: $5 (scholarships available)
