Currently all of our programming for Adults with Special Needs is held at our Old Hickory Blvd location.
The Inspirations Class is a Sunday morning class for young adults with special needs. Carl and Mimi Sanders lead the class, which is part of the Christian Living section of CORE classes for adults. The Bible lesson is presented using different methods and teaching combined with class discussion. There is a time for fellowship and relationship building, along with snacks, music and a craft.
The Inspirations class meets at 10 a.m. on Sundays in room E113.
The Ascent is a bi-monthly gathering for adults with special needs to have a place for community, growth in their faith, service, worship, fellowship and share a meal. We partner with West End Community Church and Cross Point-Bellevue to host and serve our friends.
The Ascent is on Sundays in the Gathering Room from 5:30-7 p.m.
Special gatherings encourage community, such as a trip to see Christmas lights, a Sunday morning brunch and a Valentine's class party. God’s love is seen and felt with our friends and class helpers every Sunday! Some of our adults with special needs are involved with Friends Life during the week and the Putting Faith to Work Missional Community, which helps find meaningful employment for people with disabilities.
