A Congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America

Sunday Spotlight (January 27, 2012)

Dear CPC Community,

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. (Jude 1:2) This week's Sunday Spotlight zooms in on January 29 and January 22, taking a look back at last weekend and a look ahead to what we believe God has in store for this Sunday. See you in the Sanctuary!

Blessings in Him,
Your CPC Office of Communications

A Look Ahead To Sunday, January 29:

We look forward to praising the Lord and learning from His word together this Sunday. The morning's sermon, "Why Pray When You Can Worry?", will challenge and encourage us with a message rooted in Philippians 4:4-7. Note: The Session has called a Congregational Meeting for this Sunday so that the membership may respond to the presentation by our Pastor-Search Committee of a candidate for Senior Pastor, the Rev. Scott Sauls. Leading up to the service, we are all encouraged to read the Scripture noted above and to meditate on the lyrics of some of our planned music by clicking on the video links below.

"We Fall Down"

"Before the Throne of God Above"

A Look Back To Sunday, January 22:

It was a wonderful morning of worship at CPC, with some 1,400 gathered in the Sanctuary to exalt the name of our God. Gordon Mote got us started in stirring fashion with our assembly song. We celebrated the infant baptism of Ella Rose Lampley, daughter of Troy and Sandy Lampley. The morning's sermon, "The 13th Day of Christmas", taught by pastoral candidate the Rev. Scott Sauls, focused our hearts and minds on the truth and rich applications within Paul's words to the church at Ephesus (Eph. 2:1-10). Please see several photos and captions from last Sunday below.
