“A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you,
you also are to love one another.” John 13:34

GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each session includes a video seminar and group discussion. A GriefShare workbook assists you with note taking, journaling and grief study. The videos feature top experts on grief recovery, dramatic reenactments about living with grief and real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours.

Stephen Ministry provides a caring person who is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray, and walk alongside you during difficult times. It’s confidential, free, and beneficial during stressful times. This ministry equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-on-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of needs during difficult circumstances, both in our congregation and community.

Crown Financial Ministries is an interdenominational ministry with a mission to teach people God’s financial principles. Unfortunately, most Christians have been taught only God’s principle of handling 10 percent of their income – the area of giving. Although this is crucial, they do not understand the Lord’s perspective of handling the other 90 percent. In the Crown Study, you will learn what Scripture teaches about managing all your possessions.

3 Cord Society is a group of single Christian women, primarily from Christ Presbyterian Church, meeting together regularly to encourage and support one another. This group enjoys various activities such as meeting for meals, antiquing, plays, and musicals, an annual Valentine’s Dinner, and visiting in each others homes.

Loving in Deed is a ministry to those confined to their homes and extended care facilities. The Cream Team is part of this ministry. Team members go to various facilities in the Nashville area, visiting residents and giving them the gift of touch with hand massages. They particularly look for residents who receive few or no visitors, put lotion on their hands as they share conversation, concern, and the love of Christ. Children with their parents are welcome. Members receive an apron stocked with lotion and hand sanitizer to wear when they visit a facility.

Parish Nurses is a ministry to meet the health needs and interests of our church and is dedicated to the service of the whole person: body, mind and spirit. This ministry is not intended to serve in the same capacity as a home health care agency. It is primarily a network of healthcare professionals within the church who use their training and skills to minister to those within the church community. This includes Red Cross Blood Drives, blood pressure screenings, accompanying individuals on doctor visits, etc.

The Shepherding Center is located in the Hope House on the Christ Presbyterian Church campus. Brochures on all of these ministries can be found in display racks in both buildings A and B. For more information or to be a part of one of these ministries, call Mary Sue Curtis at 301-3507 or e-mail her at mcurtis@christpres.org.
