Discipleship Groups
Growing together.
Discipleship groups kick off on Wednesday, September 7! Check out the Junior High and Senior High web pages for more information on each.
Discipleship groups (D-groups) are the core of CPC Youth Ministry. Jesus commands us to follow after Him above all else and be a light to those around us. As we deepen our love for Him, His love will overflow from our lives to others. We are called to walk alongside one another in Christian fellowship to be drawn nearer to the Father.
D-groups enable students to build a mentoring relationship with their leaders, as well as deepen relationships with one another beyond the surface level. It is designed to be a safe haven where students can share both their joys and struggles. Students are there to support, encourage and pray for one another as they study the Word of God and apply it to their lives.
If your student is not currently involved in a Discipleship Group, we strongly encourage you to consider enabling him or her to participate. Under the leadership of an adult, this atmosphere leads to iron sharpening iron. It is an essential way we facilitate fellowship and develop for our students’ strong Christian friendships.
D-Groups are encouraged to meet with their adult leader outside of the scheduled D-Group times. Parents are encouraged to contact their student’s D-Group leader and help develop and implement these important times. These times could be as elaborate as a sleepover or as simple as meeting for dinner at a restaurant. These times could be as purposeful as a service project or as relaxed as a campout.
