Career Day
APRIL PAW PRINT
Courtney Keen, Director of Alumni

Middle School Chapel

Alumni Courtney Myers, ’06, and Tori Smith, ’07, came to sing and speak at a middle school chapel last month. The duo recently released their self-titled album, Cadia, and is currently on the “We Will Stand” tour with Avalon, Michael English, and the Daniel Doss Band. The name Cadia means “a place of peace,” and the girls hope to encourage young women toward establishing their identity in Christ and finding peace in Him. You can find out more about their music at Cadiaonline.com.

Career Day
It’s amazing and a little bit surreal to watch fellow alumni share their hearts and pour into kids’ lives in the same classes in which teachers stood up in front of us and poured into our lives. As I moved from room to room during Career Day, listening to the alumni speak, laugh and interact with students, I realized that this is what it’s all about. The passion in their voices was inspirational — not because they have it all “figured out,” and not because speaking in front of people is a strength for all of them, but because they chose to give back. I smiled as I overheard one student in the hallway afterwards talking to an alumna, making plans to shadow her for a day at work.
We’re the body of Christ; we’re just doing the best that we can, day by day…and some days it looks so beautiful. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We appreciate you.
