Just Do It! We are now a Nike School!
Imagine buying back-to-school clothes for over 500 students! That is virtually what happens when we order uniforms for our athletes. In an effort to be the best stewards of the resources available to us, we are partnering with Nike to supply all of our uniform needs. As you meet with CPA’s coaches at various parent meetings involving your sport(s), you will hear more detailed information.
We are excited about the selections and quality that the Nike brand brings to our teams. Special thank you to Coach Ryan McSwain for his hard work in making this happen for CPA.

Congratulations to CPA Senior

Justin Parris has been honored as CPA’s representative for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Banquet. He was one of 35 honorees throughout Middle Tennessee. In addition, he won the NFL Retired Players Association’s “Inspiration Award” given to a “student who is an outstanding leader in his school and on his football team and demonstrates leadership by example.” Gov. Phil Bredesen and George Plaster of 104.5 “The Zone” presented the award to Justin. He is now recognized with other former CPA football players, coaches and alumni:
2000 - David Latimer - Inspiration Award
2004 - Brandon Fisher - Inspiration Award
1996 - Coach Ryan McSwain - Admiral William P. Lawrence Award.
Alumni Clinton Corder, ’03, was the MTSU honoree for the scholar/athlete winner.
It was a great evening for CPA! Soli Deo Gloria!

From The Diamond
by Coach Larry Nesbitt
In college psychology class, I studied a piece of research that concluded that people were more depressed during the winter than any other season. I remember thinking to myself “Why would that be?” After much thought and being removed from undergraduate studies for several years, I have come to the conclusion that people are depressed because of the absence of America’s past time, BASEBALL. Well, spring has arrived. It is baseball time at CPA and there is much excitement surrounding this year’s team. It is evident that this team is working hard to build a championship program. The high school baseball team has been weight training, conditioning, and throwing since August. The middle school baseball team has already started playing and currently holds a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. (as of March 5) The sixth graders have been involved in baseball skills sessions. Even the fourth grade baseball players have already begun training to one day become a LION baseball player. From the varsity baseball team to the fourth grade baseball players, it is apparent that the baseball program is poised to make a jump to the top of District 9AA.
More important than building a championship baseball program, this year’s high school baseball team is resolved to bring glory to God on the baseball field. They have committed themselves to ENCOURAGING one another, approaching each other and their opponents with a spirit of HUMILITY, WORKING HARD, and being UNITED. With so much excitement surrounding the program this year, I want to personally encourage all of you to support us by keeping up with us, attending a game, and praying for us. Thank-you for your support. Soli Deo Gloria.

Congratulations to the 07-08
CPA Boys’ Basketball Team

They are the first boys’ team to go to the TSSAA state tournament level in the AA classification. Principal Morrow prays over Coach Maddux and the Varsity Boys Basketball team after our tough loss vs Dyer Co. in the state tournament.
