Michael Ellson, Athletic Director
The annual CPA Athletic Banquet has undergone a transformation to become the CPA Athletic Gourmet Dessert. On Friday, May 16, join all the high school sports teams as they are recognized for their accomplishments this year. We will gather at 7:00 p.m. for dessert and the annual award presentations as well as the highlight of the evening, the Year-End Video. Cost will be $5.00 per person. Please call the athletic office, 301-3573, to make your reservations.
In the process of winning the Volunteer Track Classic in Knoxville over the weekend of April 18, Junior Ryan Cook set another school record in the pole vault by vaulting 14'6."
To add to that accomplishment, earlier in the week Ryan competed in the Great Eight Track Meet at Vanderbilt University. This is a competition of the best 8 athletes in each event in the mid-state across all classifications. Ryan placed first in that competition as well. — Congratulations, Ryan!
Gather all your children and their friends and sign up for Athletic Camps this summer! We have camps for baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, soccer, volleyball, and the well-rounded all-sports camp. Camps vary as to full or half day. Check the entire schedule on the CPA website or pick up a brochure in any of the brochure display cases on campus or in the athletic office. We’ll have more fun if YOU are there! (see side bar at left)
That’s right! CPA will host the District Boys’ Soccer Championships May 6 & 8. Times will be announced. Please consider how you might like to volunteer. We will need gate and concessions workers. Call the athletic office, 301-3573, to volunteer.
Funds from the CPA Football program benefit all levels of sports and even some fine arts here on campus. Give your business exposure to all the families here at CPA and our guests. Call Connie, 301-3573, in the athletic office for more information about placing your ad.
If you would like to honor your student, especially your senior, we also have space for personal advertisements. Traditionally we have honored our senior athletes and arts students with these fun personal ads. Call the athletic office to get all the details.
Congratulations to Coach Drew Maddux for being named Boys Coach of the Year by the Nashville Black Coaches Association.
